Sims 3 has stopped working on Windows 8

    DEP is no longer needed so just set it back to default.

    Also try updating your graphics drivers.

    Is this happening for just an existing savegame or also if you try a new one ?

    Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps/td-p/714/

    You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

Undo DEP, that's no longer needed

It seems to happen right after I switch families. It only takes about 5 minutes to happen once the game has been loaded. It won't allow me to take a screen shot of the message, I've tried twice. It also is not limited to me just switching the families. I saved soon enough so I didn't have to re-switch the families and it still crashed within 5 minutes. I do not have any custom content. All of my content has been purchased through the Sims Exchange and from expansion packs. I have The Sims 3, Ambitions, High End Loft Stuff, Island PAradise, Supernatural, Town Life Stuff, University Life, and World Adventures.

My computer info:

Windows 8.1

AMD A10-5750 APU with Radeon (tm) HD Graphics 2.5GHz, 8 GB RAM (7.21 GB Usable)

64-Bit Operating System, x64-based processor

Full Windows Touch Support with 10 Touch Points

I tried adding screenshots of the changes I have already done from other posts, but it won't let me.

Selected is Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:

S3Launcher

Sims3

Sims 3 Starter Application

Sims 3LAuncher Starter Application TSLHelper

The executable files I had selected were S3 Launcher, Sims3Launcher, Sims3LauncherW, TS3, TS3W

I also havei t running compatibility mode for Windows 8.
