I just recently purchased Sims 3 Island Paradise.
Everything seems to freeze all the time, but the background still moves, It plays for about a minute and freezes for a minute.
My pc is accurate to run sims, and I shouldn't have to download mods just to play a game that should work correctly.
Any other suggestions?
island paradise is full of lag/routeing issues if your able to play in your other worlds fine then the issue is with island paradise and not your computer crin has some tips in this thread here thay may help( post four)

It is only the Isle Paradiso, I'm not sure how to check mod's or anything along those lines.
Are they making a patch to correct these issues, or just something we have to deal with?
i'm still holding on to a teeny bit of hope for a patch to fix the issues with island paradise , you do not have to go down the mod route if you don't want but just to let you know they are not supported or endorsed by EA a lot of people are having issues with the world but for some using the cheat unlocking all the islands has helped a bit and using the reset all sims cheat plus moving the Scott family they are on a houseboat too OH there is another family as usual i forget if it's prince or price search for them too in my game they live on a red and white houseboat , i do apoligise to you for not having a concreate soloution

welcomes 🙂 and the rest all sims in case there is stuck sims that you can't see where they are stuck
to reset all sims ctrl+shift+c hold all 3 together in the menu bar that appears at the top of the screen type in resetsim * (inculding the * hit enter ) this will reset all sims inculdeing your own , just make sure own sims aren't doing something important like reading askill bool or on an oppertuntiy if on an oppertunity finish that action first if reading a skill book just cancel the action then reset the sims
