Sims 3 Launcher opens EA app JASPER LAKE PROCESSOR

. I got a new computer just installed Sims 3 and 4. I haven't been able to open Sim 3 beyond the launcher because it reopens the EA play app. I have an 11th (Jasper Lake) generation intel processor so the alder lake patch update didn't work when I tried to see if that was the solution. I also tried to redownload the Direct X9 file I've seen mentioned but it didn't fix the issue after I restarted my computer. Just for note, I'm running Windows 11 and I have NET Framework 3.5 enabled. Attached my Dxdiag.

Any suggestions for what might be the issue?

TIA

  • @BanickFam  Thanks for the dxdiag and the other info.  Try disabling Parsec, which your system is reading as a secondary display adaptor (you can see it in the dxdiag) and which might therefore be interfering with Sims 3.  You don't need to uninstall the software, but make sure nothing related is running in the Task Manager's background processes list.

If that doesn't help, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor, since your dxdiag doesn't list any errors that are clearly Sims 3-related.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to launch Sims 3, specifically with Parsec disabled.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
