Sims 3: My Sim can’t interact with anything

I have a Sims 3 game with four sims and a cat. One of my sims can’t interact with anything. When I right click, no options appear unless I press shift then I’m given the option to teleport etc. The rest of my sims are moving and interacting just fine. It’s just the one sim. I’ve restarted my game without saving, I’ve reset my sim, I’ve cleared my caches.

Since the problem is contained to a single sim, moving that sim out and back in again may help.  In Edit Town, you can split that sim off and move him or her to a separate house.  Then use "save as" to rename the save (so you have a backup if you need to revert), quit, clear your cache files, reload, and move that sim back in.  It's probably a good idea to "save as" again, quit, delete the cache files, and reload once more to see if the problem is gone.

This is the best way to reset a sim without mods, but it doesn't always work.  If your sim is still borked, you may need to get rid of them and replace them.  There are a couple of ways to do this, depending on how invested you are in the sim.
