Sims 3 not starting on Windows 10

I bought the SIMs 3 when I had Win 8 and just bought and upgraded to a new PC with Win 10 and now that I'm trying to install it on my new pc nothing is happening. It will show that it sees the disk but will not run it. Now not sure I should even try installing any of my older games.
