Sims 3 Old boyfriend disappeared, new guy can't become boyfriend.

I am on my fourth generation. My girl had a boyfriend in college, but then after a couple days of being back home, she invited her boyfriend over (he was still in college.) But then the next day he never showed up. I looked through her 'contacts' and didn't see him. I never got a notification he died. Now under her statistics, it reads "Number of Romances: 1, 0 Active."
"0 betrayals, 0 times cheated, longest romance with: none." She found a new guy from Egypt, but she can't go steady or anything. She can't even have him move in. Any help would be so appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Update: I did "testingcheatsenabled true" and added the Egyptian guy to her family, then I had him "Ask to break up with" but nothing happens.

I got stuck with that issue and maybe this will work for you. I did the clean slate LTW and then switched active household for a while and the glich went away. I also delete my cashe package flies every time I play. It cleans the game without deleting anything in the game. Every time you start the game it will generate new files when you delete the cashe pakage files. Edit to Add, after I switched active household I think it took around 5 sims days for the glitch to go away.

Yeah, having a boyfriend in foreign towns or at Uni unfortunatly can mess up the relationships. They are very buggy.

Only solution I have is to live with it that they can't go steady or use a mod to clean up the relationships. Google Overwatch if you wanna go down that road but it will be at your own risk. Mods are not supported by EA. Backup your game before attempting

If you want to try you could always go under the lifetime happiness rewards and click the cleanslate thing or whatever it is it will clear up all previous relationships and stuff like that. Otherwise I don't have a differnt idea sorry :c
One time just for fun, I used a cheat to make me bestfriends with the grim reaper when he was at my sims house when someone died. And then to have a good laugh I made my sim kiss him and it made me be in a romantic interest thing with him and when my sim got a boyfriend it said she was a cheater because of all that. And so i used the cleanslate thing and it worked perfectly fine 😕mileyhappy:

I used the clean slate lifetime reward last night, and at first I thought it worked. It doesn't show her having a previous relationship, but I still couldn't have him be her boyfriend, so I used testingcheatsenabled true, added him to the family, and tried to have him propose, but instead there was the option break up with. But when I clicked it nothing would happen.

I would be fine with it, I had her adopt a baby, but she has the want to get married, which is the problem because not only can she not have a boyfriend, it won't go past that at all. I've been trying not to do any cheats on my game, but I've had to do testingcheatsenabled true. If nothing works, I just won't have her get married. But I'd really like to find a solution to this.
