Sims 3 on Surface Pro?
I am in the market for a new laptop for digital art before going to college and I am DONE with all the grief playing sims on a mac has put me through. Currently I’m looking at some surface pro models...
@AnxietyCat220 Surface Pros aren't gaming laptops, and I wouldn't expect one, other than maybe the highest-end model, to run all Sims 3 packs together, at least not very well. But what kind of performance you might get depends on the specs of the particular model you buy. So it would help if you could link the configuration(s) you're considering, rather than the line overall.
The issue is that Sims 3 doesn't run as well as it should on lower-end computers, and sometimes it barely runs at all. It can also overheat a laptop much more quickly than it should. So there's no real way to say sure, this hardware be fine to run the game on medium settings—it might, or you might get constant crashing, or you might even overheat and damage the laptop.
What do you want out of the laptop, and how much are you willing to pay? If you want something lightweight and portable, your options are somewhat limited, either by price or by performance. But I'd be happy to look for some options; just list your budget and country, as well as the other details that matter to you.
wow, thank you! I am still saving, but ideally budget will be around $1500? maybe more if my parents are willing to help out, but gaming is kind of secondary, my main focus is drawing and digital art. It would be great to get a laptop that could do both but I understand if that’s not really possible. My country is the US
@AnxietyCat220 When you say drawing and digital art, do you need a touchpad laptop or one with a screen on which you can use a stylus? That would narrow things down significantly, but there are still probably some decent options. (I haven't looked in that category in a while.) The software you'd want to install should run fine on any laptop capable of running Sims 3.
One with a nice stylus, touchscreen would just get in the way. I also have a drawing tablet that can connect to a computer via usb, but it’s less preferable to using a stylus directly on the screen. Anyways, I know sims 3 is not the best running of games so it’s not a dealbreaker if I can’t find a computer that can run it well, I’d be fine with low graphics XD
