Sims 3/ origins

This seems to be the trend with gameing. DVDs are getting scarce and it's all about downloading stuff. I do not like this trend either but most player seem fine with it.
All method ever invented to do something against piracy have always been more a nuisance to the buying player than those who pirate the game and I do believe this to be the newest attempt.
There is a possiblity to play the Sims 3 game legally without Internet. You'll need to try to get hold of an older version of the base game. You'll probably find something on ebay.
Here's an overview: http://sims3.crinrict.com/2014/02/sims-3-versionen.html
The games pre-sept-2012 don't require Origin or an internet connection to play the game. Just make sure you actually get what's on the pictures. I believe that if you buy on Amazon, you might find the older cover but you'll still get the newer one.
It's not just EA that is taking this course and since AnswerHQ is a user help user platform, there's not much else I can say on this topic.
