Sims 3 Registration Error

My friend gave me The Sims 3 disc the other day because he said he got bored of it and I could have it if I wanted it. So, I took it because I have always loved the Sims! But he had just given it to me in a CD sleeve, without the registration code or anything. He claims to have lost it. ☹️ I really want to play this game, is there anyway I can get a registration code for it?

If your friend registered the game at the Sims 3 site, he can contact customer support to get it.
You won't be able to register a used game though.
