Sims 3 Roaring Heights Won't Install
I'm currently on a Macbook that's running the 1.67 version of The Sims 3 with the pets expansion. I've had no trouble installing store content and creator content in the past, but the Roaring Heights world I just bought from The Sims 3 store is refusing to install. It downloads from the purchase history in the store and shows up on the launcher with no trouble, but as soon as I try to install it, it runs through the green progress bar, gets to 100%, and then throws an error message telling me I need to make sure I have the latest software update and to try again. It also sometimes freezes up my launcher and I have to go and force quit the game after 10 minutes or so. In either case, when I return to the downloads dashboard in the launcher it just shows up like something that hasn't been installed. I have tried:
1. Downloading another file from the store in case the one I tried to install was corrupt
2. Restarting my computer
3. Restarting the launcher
4. Going into the sims 3 file on my computer, removing the sims3pack file for the world, and dragging and dropping it onto the launcher to install
5. Downloading from a different browser
6. Logging in and out of my account in my browser
7. Uninstalling some (but not all) custom content from the launcher
8. Uninstalling one of the custom worlds I had installed
9. Checked "run without CC", launched the game, opened the download manager from the main menu, and tried installing again from there (if I install from the game menu, when I get returned to the launcher it shows as 2 files: one starts downloading and has a single green arrow, the other doesn't do anything and has 3 blue arrows, both are 0.0 KB instead of the 387 ish MB if I go through the launcher. If I try to install the blue arrows file, the entire launcher freezes and I can check boxes but can't click anything)
I'm not tech savvy at ALL and every possible solution I've seen has steps I don't understand or just never has a response as to whether or not it worked. There was a patch recommended but it's huge and people were saying it completely destroyed their game so I refuse to risk using that. If anyone has a solution they wouldn't mind dumbing down for me, I'd really appreciate it. I've been trying to get this figured out for hours now and I'm really frustrated.
SOLVED: I installed a bunch of .package mods that were working just fine in my game, but then I added some of my old sims3pack cc that worked before I got rid of it and noticed it wasn't showing up in game. After seeing that, I realized this issue was that sims3packs weren't showing up in game even though they were installed. So, literally all I did to fix this issue was to check the "run without cc" box and then uncheck it and then run the game. Super easy fix, no idea why it didn't work before.
