Sims 3 Roaring Heights Won't Install

@TaxidermyDogLamp  It sounds like the problem is specifically installing the world, not a corrupted download.  Have you tried installing Roaring Heights into a clean game folder yet?  If not, please move your entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  Open the launcher to spawn a clean folder, then download RH and see whether it installs.  If it does, let me know, and I can explain how to combine it with your other store content in one folder.

@puzzlezaddict I dragged my sims 3 folder onto my desktop long before I started trying to install RH, so I just have a folder with the launcher and all the files by itself on my desktop. If it helps, I’ve noticed that the file shows up in the launcher as an object, not a world. It has the correct title and the correct picture, but the type always shows up as object, even when it’s come straight from the store.

Edit: I made a copy of the file and it worked! Thank you so, so much! If you have minute, I'd appreciate instructions on how to put them back together.

@TaxidermyDogLamp  There are two routes you could go.  If you don't have a lot of other store content, you could install everything from the store into the new folder and then move the rest of your content into that new folder.  It's simpler but takes less time.  But if you don't want to go that route, there's a slightly more complicated but less time-consuming approach you could take instead, although it involves trying to install RH one more time.  Let me know your preference.

@puzzlezaddict So I don’t know if this makes a difference but I did load the game and it says RH is installed to main menu but doesn’t come up as an option if I try to start a new game on the new launcher. Is that going to be a new problem?

On the other note, I have a ton of store items so I think it might be easier to just go with option 2. 

@TaxidermyDogLamp  Okay, if you can't start a new save there, then it sounds like RH might not have installed correctly after all.  Just to be thorough, delete the five cache files in your game folder, to see if it helps:

• CASPartCache.package
• compositorCache.package
• scriptCache.package
• simCompositorCache.package
• socialCache,package

Otherwise, there's an issue with some (relatively) newer store content that needs the store patches to work correctly: the patches aren't being offered by the launcher anymore.  Please see this post for more information:

There's not much point in consolidating your content until you get RH working though.

@puzzlezaddict The cache clearing didn't work, so I downloaded the patch and put it in the sims 3 folder in place of the empty ContentPatch folder and I'm now trying to download RH from the store again to see if it works. I'll edit with an update when whatever happens happens.

Update: Did NOT work, RH was showing up as an object, not a world, so I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling.

@TaxidermyDogLamp  Can you start a new save somewhere else and try to place the classic car that comes with RH?  I'm curious as to whether it's there at all, and whether it has the expected interactions attached to it.

It would also be interesting to see whether RH showed up as an option if you told a sim to move there via phone.  (Real Estate & Travel > Move > To new town)

I need to go to bed soon, but tomorrow I can ask around if anyone knows what the issue might be.

Edit: All of the RH stuff shows as installed content but I can’t see any of it in game. Super weird.

This morning I completely wiped my sims downloads folder in case there was some issue with my cc and store content. The good news is, after doing that and deleting the cc world I had installed, I managed to get the RH installed and the world shows up as a .world in my installed worlds file. Unfortunately, it still doesn't show up in game.
