I am having the same problem with my PC ... I have windows 7 and have two computers this is happening on. I contacted ea customer support online live chat and have been given the run around. First they have me update my video drivers and that didnt work. Then contacted them again only to be told that a patch would be out in a few days that maybe I should wait for that to fix my problem. Well two weeks later and tired of waiting I contact them again only to be told that there is no patch being made because there is no problems...hmmmm well I think they should get their stories straight then. I have every single sims game made from sims 1 to sims 3 and I think this might be my last one I purchase if they dont fix the problem.
I've tried the help chat as well...they just give me the runaround and when they can't help me solve the problem they say my computer isn't good enough.
Wth? Yes it is. Fix the game. Argh.

IKR? It's really feeling and sounding like EA doesn't care. They seem to be ignoring this problem or at the least dismissing it by pointing the finger at our computers where we all state they exceed the minimum requirerments. WTF, EA? Help us out or I'm going to ask for a refund for at least Seasons. If you're at least trying to find a solution please tell us so we stop feeling like we're being ignored. We are loyal costumers that are seeking a way to keep playing your game while you make excuses. Please! Help us out here! I hope you realize not doing so could at the least risk a lot of costumers who are feeling like a desire to play your games that you should want doesn't matter.

Maybe we can work out a common denominator here. There's got to be one soul reason why our games do this. Could it be the architecture of our Windows builds? Could it specifically be the architecture of a build above Windows Vista? I personally run Windows 8 Pro x86, 3GB RAM, NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M (based on the NVIDIA 8400M-GS graphics card) graphics, 2.2GHz Intel Centrino Duo. Is there anything in here that anyone has in common? I understand my specs aren't all that terrific, but they at least exceed the minimum requirements. Further, if I was previously able to run everything at high settings, you'd think it'd continue to work unless EA actually specified a requirements change like they did with Pets, right?
To put this in perspective, without Pets, my old Acer Aspire 4310 laptop (with integrated graphics) can run Seasons better than my current computer.
