Was a solution to this ever found????
It's driving me nuts, I've spent hours building my house from scratch.....only to lose it every time I try to save.
The developers need to get on this ASAP, it's seriously annoying.
There's clearly a programming issue here. If it can't be fixed them I'm happy to uninstall seasons.............and get a refund

I had the same problem, but I found a fix, when ever you want to save - minimize out and go to Libraries/Documents/Electronic Arts/ The Sims 3/ Saves
Then cut your save and move it somewhere else. Then go back to your minimized game and save.

after reading every single post in this thread and having the same problem myself, i found a temporary solution..my game crashed when i tried to save after building a second floor to my house...this happened for the first time after i updated my game with the latest patch (1.50 something)..when i first built my house it didn't present this problem though..so i thought to myself..what did i do differently? the thing is i built the first floor combining blueprints, dragging and deleting walls but i didn't actually build a wall..so the problem only existed when i built walls..so what i did was, to build the second floor, i enabled "moveobjects on" cheat code, and place a few hallways from the blueprints..then i dragged and deleted walls to make the rooms i wanted..after i finished building i played for half an hour, planned outfits and all...and then managed to save successfully! I hope this helps people temporarily until EA fixes whatever problem there might be.
BTW i have had seasons for some time now and i don't think it's the source of the problem, i think it's the latest patch.
PS oh! and i'm on windows 7 with 8gb ram

I didn't have a problem at first. Heck, I built half a town, houses, households and all before I had this problem. It happened yesterday for the first time and I can't add on to the house at all now. I can delete stuff and edit what's inside, but I can't build, just buy and sell ☹️ I've tried a lot of things, but I haven't found a solution that works on my computer yet. I hope EA fixes this soon, not being able to make a house is depressing!

This started happening to me today out of the blue, the only update type thing was a store content patch, and then whenever I build to my house at all it crashes while saving. It then exists to the desktop on says the Sims 3 has stopped working. I really hope this is fixed, I am really close to deleting it, and I don't want to. This is really frustrating, and I am not sure it really has to do with the Seasons EP.
