Sims 3 showtime expansion pack

Sims 3 Showtime Expansion pack will not install on my computer. The InstallSheild Wizard says i must install sims 3 first(which i did, i play it all the time), and then to retry installing Sims 3 Showtime Expansion Pack. PLEASE HELP. ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!
