Sims 3 stops when I click "start playing household"

If I use CAS it works fine but both move in household or choose household to play both stop working, the tick will turn grey but nothing happens, if I save and reload it opens in edit town mode and still only gets as far as click to start playing. It also happens if I send someone to University, the game doesn't freeze, I can still move around or choose a different house but can't do anything else. My game has the latest patch. I don't use move in or choose household often so I'm not sure exactly when this started but I think it was after installing Island Paradise. I only have a couple of CC bits and those were added after I first saw this problem.

I've been having this same problem also. No matter what I do the button will just not work. I just purchesed the university expansion pack and whenever I send my sim, I can move around and view the town but I can't press the play button once i've selected a dorm to live in.

    Same Here! :'(

Today I started a new saved game in Sunlit Tides. Everything ran fine and CAS worked. And that happened because I deleted two households that I downloaded from the Exchange and I wanted to completely get rid of them. I returned to the game setup and started playing a household. After a while, I found out that my game had stopped working with an error message saying: "Sims 3 has stopped working. Windows is collecting more Information..." and used the Task Manager to terminate the program. I play on Windowed Mode and in order for me to avoid the process of waiting, I held the Power button for a long time and when I restarted my laptop, I browsed my Sims 3 folder and found the Crash Log. I read it and it was a "Breakpoint" crash. I don't exactly know if the Breakpoint crash has anything to do with DEP as I checked it and all my Sims3.exe files were there.

I don't exactly know if this problem has to do with the antivirus as it was in normal mode. If I turn the antivirus into gaming mode, will my game have the same problem as I had before? I'm just nervous to see what happens with the antivirus in Gaming mode. Will my game still be unplayable?

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you 🙂
