Sims 3 stops working and crashes while saving ONLY in Edit town mode

mine does the exact same every time i try to add another floor it crashes out... hopefully it's fixed in the next update

I have been having this problem since I istalled Seasons and have been dealing with this issue now for 4 days.....I'm in build mode and building on 2nd floor. click on "edit town" to try and save....sometimes it hangs up on "loading" then "the sims 3 has stopped responding" error crash message. Sometimes it crashes when trying to save from edit town with same crash error message. Also when initally starting the game from the neighborhood view, I click on the lot that i'm building and once in the lot, objects appear gray and take a while for the graphics to appear. AND, while in buy mode, the object thumbnails take a while to load. AND, sometimes when I switch from build mode to buy mode (or vice versa), The menu (bottom left functions menu) flickers to patches of black to its original color of blue..........my game is borked big time!!! someone please help!

Thank you for this :cathappy:  My game has stopped crashing now whilst saving 

I was using the games foundation in build mode and it crashes everytime.  Do we have a solution now?  It is very frustating it takes so long to open the game just to have it crash.  I can save as long as I don't build anything. 

bumping this up - game crashes no matter what I do if I'm in edit town mode and try to save anything. Even if I go out of edit town and back into game play, it will crash if I've even glanced at the edit town menu's. Any ideas? It's becoming very frustrating since I enjoy customizing my town!

I have the same issue, and I'm not sure if my computer crashing is more frustrating than the complete lack of help offered via the ea website. The problem started just when my sim attended a party, but now I can't get past a couple of minutes in game before my computer just cuts out and I have to switch it back on. I'd really like to get to the bottom of the problem as I've had it happen on 2 laptops now and I'd just like to play the game for more than 5 minutes.

So if you want to build a second floor (fails in my game too), you must not use the mansard style roof and foundations?

But now that i've tried it, it doesn't work with all of my roofs
