sims 3 store hair wont download. please help!!

Hi, I have downloaded a sim from ModTheSims. The hair is from the Sims 3 Store (HERE). As the link will show, the hair is one of the free ones, so there should be no problem with the upload. I really want the hair because it goes perfectly with the sim I am trying to download, which by the way, the game will not download the sim without the hair for some reason. I have everything else but the hair! (So frustrating.)

But unfortunately, when I click download, it goes to the start launcher, but this message appears:

Error

We're sorry, but you do not own the item you are trying to download. Please visit www.thesims3.com for more information about purchasing this item.

Now, it says its free, so I was just wondering how come I can't "buy" the item, or if something is wrong.

If it helps, I have my game fully updated, and the games I have are base, World Adventures, High End Loft Stuff, Ambitions, Late Night, and Generations.

If you can help with either downloading the hair, OR figuring out how I can still download the sim without it, I would really appreciate it!

  • Ok. I don't know if I can help you, but I also downloaded a bunch of hair from the store and for some reason it wasn't showing up in the game, even though the launcher had downladed it. That is the key word, "download". It is not actually installed until you install it. When you launch your game open up the dahboard and you should have a menu item that says "Download Dashboard Installer" , or something like that and select it. There you should find everything that you downloaded that did not install in the game. It will say either it was installed or install now and just click on install now. I was actually looking for missing content when I came across it and I had to install 157 items that I did not realized wasn't in the game. As for the sim, I use my own, so I can't help you with that and if the other doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you and hopefully someone else can help you, but I hope it helps 😕mileyhappy:

thanks for replying, but the problem occurs before that. the message shows up before the hair can even be added to the launcher. ☹️
