You just select 'friendly' then go on to 'take friendly photo' or alternatively, if your SIms are romantically involved, you can select 'romantic' and 'take romantic photo'. The photos are medium-sized default and will appear on your sim's smartphone.
I think the problem you may be having is that in order for these options to appear you must reach a certain level of the 'jock' social group. I can't remember which level, but you can always use the Skill Book mod and master the jock social group so you can access all the cool interactions. If you master either jock / nerd / rebel you also get to add an additional trait to your sim 🙂
