sims 3 using max ram on new pc

Hello! I've been here before for this same issue, but I'm still having issues.

here's some info

yes, I use cc

yes, use expansions

yes, I have played with no cc and it plays fine,

but I'm having a hard time understanding why my old laptop plays sims with way more cc on the lot

and a huge World, and four sims, only using 2.3gb of ram, but my new pc, i have to use an empty World,

not ever half way full, and nearly 4 sims force closes at using 3.4gb of ram, and yes I understand

sims doesn't go over 4gb of ram. I could use some help understanding why my sims3 on the pc is

using so much ram space, and my laptop wasn't, and yes it the same cc, same sims.

Thanks for anyone whos willing to help.

>both my logs for PC(new) and Laptop(old)

  • @iisshhaa  Have you turned high-detail lots up to the maximum setting?  That's a huge memory hog; I play with the setting on 2 almost all the time.  The water setting also uses more resources than it should; try turning it down to "mirrors only."  And let me know whether you've taken steps to cap your in-game framerates yet.  While this shouldn't affect RAM use, at least not much, it's certainly necessary for a relatively fast card like yours, and the game's own fps limiter doesn't work.

The dxdiag from your new PC also shows a number of errors related to the graphics driver.  Since your driver is several months old, you can simply install the newest one from Nvidia:

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/179681/en-us

Choose the custom option and check the box to perform a clean install; restart your computer after it's done.
