Sims 3 walking cane HELP!

Question

I bought my sims 3 generations a while ago and when I click to try to walk with the cane the only option is to put into inventory or give as a gift. &nbsp;after it is in my inventory they sim then only has the option to give as gift and not use it. &nbsp;Can anyone answer/help me with this?

is the sim an elder ? only elders can use the cane

1st, make sure that sim is elder2nd, try put the cane in the inventory first then&nbsp;3rd, click for walking style and then click go somewhereand see if your sim is able to walk properly.&nbsp;Hope this helps! Have fun!
