My windows on my laptop refused to update. So I finally had to reset the whole thing. I went through and reinstalled all of my games. Everything installed fine except The Sims 3. When I click download, it immediately tries to download high-end loft stuff. I feel like it's not trying to install the base game first. I have tried app recovery, ending the background service task, and different install locations. I should mention I have a separate internal drive for my games. I don't know what else to try. I am just looking for ideas on what to try next.
So as an update for everyone (mostly because I didn't see it myself at first) this thread here https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/EA-app-not-giving-a-download-directory/td-p/13044132 talks about the issue. EA has been made aware of the issue and is in the process of fixing it
