SIMS 3 WONT LAUNCH WINDOWS 11
Hi i just got a brand new PC:
- Windows 11 Home
- Intel® Core™ i7 12700 (12th Generation)
- 16 GB RAM
- 512 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD
- NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060 (12 GB)
I used to only have the games on a laptop with the games installed on origin. I've not played it in years and realised it has now all moved to the EA app which i downloaded and im super disappointed i cant get it to work as its like £200 of games
When i try to open the game it gets stuck in a loop of opening the game launcher and then opening EA app and then the launcher...etc
I tried the thread on here of installing DirectX 'dire tx_Jun2010_redist.exe - as per the thread on here
It also says that the netframework 3.5 is enabled
The Sims 4 works fine! Can anyone advise?
@LUCYW0708 You probably have this issue:
which is that Sims 3 doesn't start correctly on 12th-gen Intel processors. The workaround is to limit the game to one CPU core while it's loading; you can use any of the methods described in the accepted solution on page one.
However, I've heard that this problem may have been resolved in the latest build of Windows 11. So please let me know what version number you have installed, and if you're one build behind, you may prefer to update before trying anything else.
If neither of the above helps, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
