Sims 3 won't open

Hi everyone,

I have literally tried everything that I know of in an attempt to get The Sims 3 running on my new laptop, but sadly, nothing has worked.

I was gifted a gaming laptop with a 14th gen intel processor, which I have came to realize can't run the sims 3, which is very dissapointing becasue I just bought the sims 3 ambitions today, but I can't even play it. I am not one to contact anyone over an issue, but I feel like if EA is charging for games and add-ons, they should figure out a way to make the game work.

I am running it on EA, I've tried everything, like the Alder Lake Patch, running as administrator (both EA app and the Sims), limiting to 1 CPU while in launcher, running a separate TS3 script, updating the game, repairing the game and EA itself, and more. I am exhausted and frustrated. If anyone knows of anything else, please send it my way; it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Kjtumbler56  I've split your post into its own thread because the other thread is somewhat old and about a specific issue that's no longer relevant.  If you're getting an error when you try to play, please post a screenshot of it.

Either way, please also provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
