Sims 3 won't update

Hello, I have sims 3 and about 6 eps (some downloads from amazon and some disks) and on Thursday I downloaded the 1.66 update from my launcher. It stuck to 9% for about 3 hours so I canceled and restarted and everything finished. Also during this first try my NRAAS mods and cc were still in my mods folder because I didn't realize I needed to move them first. So I started my game and everything ran smoothly until my load screen came up, all the menus were blank including Options, the Neighborhoods, the Ads in the bottom right screen and any information to login was blank and it didn't allow me to login. I went on google to find a solution and I found the temporary fix via games4theworld.com and in the instructions it said to replace all eps with there files in the C:\Program Files(x86)\Electronic Arts\whatever ep you have\Games\Bin ect. only, I have only the disks I had installed with on my c drive; and not a file for my base game so the fix didn't work for me. I saw a few people say it didn't work for them so they just reinstalled, so after some breathing I did the same only for my base game at first. at this moment the launcher will not let me play without a damned update to 1.66 of course and since my c drive doesn't have the direct game application I updated again. It did the same freezing thing and I canceled and restarted ( sorry this is so long :0) Iv updated about 4 times now since I reinstalled the game and it continues to update and yet say my game wont start due to the latest ep being more up to date?

Im honestly tired of this game with the launcher so if anyone can help me figure out how to fix this problem please, help! ☹️ Btw on the last 4 updates I did my mods folder was not in the sims 3 directory however all my "downloads" in the launcher were un uninstallable. idk why but the launcher just kept saying to update it wouldn't even let me clean up the downloads before hand. ☹️
