Sims 3&4 On Windows 7,8,10

I am thinking of purchasing a new laptop for my old one clunked out on me. The problem is, the laptops today have either Windows 8 or Windows 10 pre-installed. Will I be able to play the Sims 3 or the Sims 4 on Windows 10 PC? Will I be able to play them on Windows 8 PC? The specs on the Sims 3 say to have either Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 7, but I hear some people have managed to play the Sims 3 and 4 on Windows 8. I just want to be sure before I purchase a laptop with either Windows.
