Sims Code Stolen?
I haven't played the Sims 3 in years and its my favorite and best era of Sims. Anyway, I noticed that 2 of my expansion packs were missing from the download and I went to get my cases out and get the codes. I plugged them in and got an error. I went to the chat and was told that those two games were registered to another account. I have only ever used two emails during the creation if my games. My current email and a previous one. I was then informed that the games I spent time and money on and my favorite expansion pack (University) and one I never even got to use (Monte Vista) were under another account. I was told nothing could be done and told to post here.
I am so beyond upset and I don't even know what to do. Both games were purchased in 2013 and 2017. I cannot get a refund or anything and buying new expansion packs of the ones I physically have a copy for is stupid.
I have proof of purchase for only the one I bought on Amazon in 2017 but even still, not like I can get it back.
I am just very upset and unsure what I can do. I can't even understand how my codes were taken when I played Sims University Life 3-4 years ago and nothing was wrong then. I only knew there was an issue when 10 months ago I came to play Sims and EA was having patch issues with Sims 3 and now this happened.
i just want to play my game WITH items I purchased and have PHYSICAL copies of. EA is terrible for not even having any way to properly support me with this. I even have the email from when I created my current account in 2015.
I feel so dumb for being upset, but this has a lot of emotional attachment for me.
EA has disappointed me with this unhelpfulness.
Hey @genesisvas,
Sorry for the frustration you're having to deal with when you're just trying to get back to some relaxation with your Sims.
Just to clarify, once a code is registered to an account, that same code can't be used elsewhere or stolen by a different person/account. In this case the codes appear to still be on the account where they were originally registered, which just seems to be a different account than the one you're on now.
While you mentioned you had used a particular email that was just changed once, do you recall any other emails that may have been used in the past, even if it's an email you can no longer access?
Our support team would need to try and verify that other account with you before it's possible to try merging everything to your current account as mentioned above. Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to make any changes or provide other details here on the forums, so it would be best to reach back out to support with any other details you can recall so they're able to try recovering and updating this other account.
