Sims Seasons doesn't start

What is your operating system ? Did you patch to 1.42 ?
Sounds like the EP got not installed correctly.
I have Mac Os X.
The version I have for my sims is: 12.0.273.019001
I don't know which patch this is.
I kinda suspected that. There were quite a few Mac users reporting similar issues.

You're patched alright.
Try reinstalling the EP and if that doesn't work, I would check the Mac forum in the official Sims 3 forum if they have any solutions to this.
