Sims supernatural wont install and now "sims3 launcher has stopped working" alert come if I try to open Sims3 or any expansion pack

I have just purchased Sims3 supernatural expansion pack via Amazon - I tried to load from the disk and it said it needed to update Sims3 to work. That update failed (Error Code: -5006 : 0x80070020). ...

Hi theabbotts,

Can you check if you have the file ContentPatch.package in your folder ContentPatch, please? You can find the folder here:

[...]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\ContentPatch
