Singer does not want to go to jobs or gigs

I have had this problem since I bought show time Katy Perry edition back when it first came out. When my sim reaches level 8 of the singer career she no longer will perform jobs or go to gigs. Also when I use sim port I am constantly getting " failed"  please try again later but in the game it tells me That a car will be there to pick her up but nothing ever happens. Is there any way to fix these issues?
