Ok - Thanks for the link to the patch and to crincrict's notes on the 1.67 update.
I've tried a few times to XP you both, with 'Temporarily allow all this page' activated (Avira free-ware with Web- and Real-Time protection 'inactive'.
(I thought I'd replied to crincrict, but it's posted as a new topic !)
So far:
TS3_1.67.2.0240xx_update.exe
downloaded fine,
but, there's an error message: (it would be good to send you a screen-shot)

I removed the folder named: 'Mods' (after backing up).
I used Firefox to download (v. 10.0.2) - though I can't see *that* would make any difference.
XP is a legitimate, and is described in the dxdiag file at the beginning of this post.
To summarise:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.111025-1629)
Thanks again rumbutter, *wondering* (?what next)

Computer Says No to quote the Little Britain character.
"Sorry, Internet Explorer 11 is not compatible with your system.
Upgrade to Windows 8.1 now to get ...."
"You're usiing Internet Explorer 8, the latest browser for Windows XP.
Support (for Win XP & IE 8 on XP) has ended." ;\

yeah that is the last one that'll work on XP as win XP is no longer supported since about march or april of this year but firefox should and will work
so try just use firefox as your browser
if the game launches and you get something about a script error do you still want to run hitting yes or no won't matter as that is more or less to do with the store ads on the launcher
i use firefox more than i do IE so use firefox to try download from the store if you get a message need to associate a program with the download when you first try with firefox see image 1 for what you may see click on the choose and image 2 what to look for to tell firefox how/what to use as an example

Thanks for your ScreenShots rumbutter.
I didn't realise that 'Choose' is possible under Firefox Options.
However, the 'Error' box message is continues to pop up first-up.

On the sims3 page with screenshots of 'Last Venue of Amore',
Under the button: 'Download', there's:
a Green Square (star - "Item has Additional Gameplay')
an Orange Square (tick5 - "You own this item")
I've been trying to download it all the time from my Sims 3 Store:
Purchase History, which has worked before for a previous reinstall.
