@Pixire: I really really don't know. What do you mean by 'your game' ? Any savegame you're reusing ? What happens if you only install the base game and DO NOT patch it (or manually patch to 1.36) ?
@KTshu, CatStar4: Any mods folders in the old place in programs ? Did you ever install them that way or use the installer monkey helper ? You can also try the factory reset described on the first page.

@Gabbryrose: If you save a sim to the bin, most of it's info is saved with it, so that's why you have the bug on a new game. Glad it corrected itself tough. Can you garden too or is it just the journal that corrected ?
