Supernatural Sims have no power & don't transform?

I just recently got Supernatural and I created a household with a werewolf and a fairy. Everything seemed fin in CAS.  When I put them into a house and started playing, my fairy's wings were gone.  I saw nothing special about either character, including no interaction options that seemed to be supernatural related.

Having never played I thought, OK, maybe they only wolf out or fae up at the full moon.  The full moon came and went (a few zombies showed up, so the lunar cycle apparently worked) with no changes at all.  I've tried a few things I've read sometimes make werewolves transform (fighting, getting into an awful mood) with no luck.

What's going on?

I have no mods or custom content (did a long time ago, but cleared all of them out and resinstalled the base game before ever adding Supernatural).  I've tried clearing out all cache files, again with no change.

Help!
