Teen Sim Won't Attend Afterschool Classes (Sims 3 Generations)
I have a family in the Sims 3 that I've been playing with for a good while and my sim had 3 children. The oldest is a teen. While she was still a child I got the generations pack. When she aged up I put her in 2 afterschool classes (sports and debate [their days don't interfere with each other at all.]) She went to them for a little while and of course, sometimes all the kids in the household would go on a fieldtrip from time to time and it wasn't a problem. One day I accepted a field trip permission slip and my teen sim just broke. I'm not sure when it happened first but I one day checked up on my sims since it was their field trip day and noticed my teen sim was still in the school rabbithole while it said "Field Trip!" in the career tab. I thought it was weird but ignored it since the game has bugs all the time that don't do much but slightly annoy you. Then I noticed she was coming home early despite being in 2 afterschool classes. I would've noticed earlier but having 5 sims and a dog is much harder than it looks and I always forget to pay attention so I have the occasional missed opportunities and such. I tried making her go from the career tab but it wouldn't work. It's been like this for a while and It's getting annoying since I put her in said afterschool classes for the skill gains for her future career. Also when she leaves school on the days she's supposed to be doing afterschool classes she doesn't immediately go home she just stays on the school lot. While she is still there it will say "Learning!" in the career tab. Am I just an idiot or is my game broken?

My teen sim won't attend her afterschool classes and every time she goes to school it says she's on a field trip. Also, it claims she's still at school when she walks out of the rabbit hole but stays on the lot. Is this a bug or am I stupid and don't know something?
@Derp54590 I don't think your save is broken (and definitely not that you're an idiot). This is a known issue with field trips and afterschool activities; it doesn't always happen, but it's been reported since Generations was first released and was never patched.
There are a few different approaches here, depending on whether you use mods or are willing to try a few. One is to install NRaas Overwatch, which I believe fixes the problem all by itself. If it doesn't, adding NRaas MasterController and running a town reset (click on City Hall and select NRaas > MC > Town Options > Reset Everything) should also fix the issue.
If you don't want to use mods, you could evict the household in Edit Town and put them back. They'd keep their jobs and relationships but lose their promised wishes and opportunities. Or you could bulldoze the school and put it back. In either case, the children's grades would reset to zero, and it's possible the progress in the afterschool activities would too, but I can't confirm because I've never tried it for this purpose.
