The Sims 3 and OS Catalina
I haven't gotten The Sims 3 to work on my MacBook Pro (early 2015) since the new OS updates. I first deleted the old game since I hadn't played since maybe 2016 and the game wouldn't open. After reloading and after long fighting I managed to get the launcher to open, but the game itself didn't start and just gave an error code. But after updating to the OS Catalina last night the game can't even be clicked and it can't be updated in Origin. Is there anything I can do?
@karoliiinas The current version of Sims 3 is a 32-bit app, and Catalina is 64-bit only, which is why you haven't been able to install it. There's no way around this problem. But EA has announced a 64-bit-compatible version of Sims 3 for macOS, due to be released some time in early 2020. Here's the full announcement:
In the meantime, unless you have access to another computer or are willing to install another operating system on your Mac, you unfortunately won't be able to play.
