The Sims 3 is unable to start?

Hello,

I have just bought the game The Sims 3 Supernatural. I have successfully installed it and downloaded, but when I try to start the game to play it, a notification comes out saying "Unable to start game. Service initialization failed (0x024e424f)" I have been trying to get the game to work for hours and it just doesn't work. I want to know how to fix this situation because I really want to start playing the game. Also, when I try to update the Sims 3 game to 1.47, it says "Update error: file not found." I don't understand what it means by that. So, if you could please help me, it would be great! I am really excited to play this game...
