the sims 3 launcher will not connect to ea download manager or origin

please help game will not update and expansion packs will not work have spent 160 bucks on game that will not work on my new pc

The sims 3 game launcher will not connect to the ea download manager or to origin.  I have origin installed.  my accounts are linked and have been using the same email for both since i started accounts.  the base game will play, but i have several expansions that will not work. I have tried every thing I have read for the last 2 weeks. I really need help with this I have put a lot of money in this game.  please there has to be some way to fix this.

    i went through all the posts about this i can find i have tried updating to 1.67 but once i do the game will not open after the launcher. 

    at the time i posted i was back to the factory game have tried the 1.67 patch again and now i have an expensive game launcher.  i will try one last time to wipe the sims off of my computer and reinstall i have read that you must install the patch before the game is played at all idk
