@ddgraham This is usually a system issue: .NET Framework 3.5 should install fine on even a fully-updated Windows. So please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
Try installing .NET 3.5 again, and if that doesn't work, try a repair install:

This shouldn't erase any of your data, but if you get to step 14 and are NOT asked whether you want to keep your apps and files, back out and start over.

hi i folloewd the Instructions from post 4 and it gave me this message after copying the text into the terminal:
"Error: 0x800f081f
The source files could not be found.
Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077.The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log" what does this mean\what should i do?

@Jupettisfart That error means that DISM couldn't find the source from which it's supposed to verify the integrity of the Windows Store (basically some reserve data about your Windows install). If your computer was offline when you ran DISM, go back online and try again. Otherwise, this error can usually be fixed, but almost as fast and somewhat more reliable is a repair install of Windows, so I'd suggest you do that instead. Here's how (option two):
https://www.elevenforum.com/t/repair-install-windows-11-with-an-in-place-upgrade.418/
This shouldn't delete any of your data, but if you get to step 14 and are NOT asked to keep personal files and apps, back out and start over.
If this doesn't help, please let me know what problem you're seeing, both when it happens and the error (if any) you get. Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
