The sims 3 on macbook pro not working!.. black screen

i have a macbook pro 13" 2013.. i have downloaded the sims 3 onto the mac via origin, i have no custom content on the game, when i click the play button a sims symbol comes up and the screen just goes black with a cursor.. i have tryed changing the screen resolution but it hasnt worked.. :mansad:
