The Sims 3 Worlds Glitches

Hey, I have a major glitch that needs to be fixed ASAP. Ok, so let me tell you what's been happening. Ok so I changed a couple of settings in my options menu. However, once I made the changes, I followed the instructions by restarting the game. When I went on the world "Moonlight Falls" everything seemed fine at first. I noticed that the mountains would take a little longer to load and every time I pressed on a building or ground I would see the mountains kind of change colors. I didn't necessarily think that it was a major problem until I pressed on the beach... The beach turned into grass. I thought this was just a little glitch so I pressed to see the whole town and it looked normal. There was sand and everything. When I zoom in, for some reason the sand turns into grass. I've tried exiting and trying again but the same glitch keeps on happening. So I changed the settings back to it's default and nothing happened. The glitch keeps on happening so I tried another town. This time it was "Lunar Lake". The whole town looked fine from the overview. However when I pressed anywhere (zoomed in mode) the town turned into a dark grey instead of a light beige. So I TRIED ANOTHER TOWN... THE SAME THING KEEPS ON FREAKING HAPPENING. PLEASE HELP ME. IM BEGGING YOU!!!

  • Hi @ULTIMATE1256,

Let's try to fix this - with the game closed go to Documents \ Electronic Arts \ The Sims 3. Delete the file 'Options.ini', and then open your game and try again.

Does it look as it should now?

@ULTIMATE1256 Have you addressed any of the issues like lack of free space on the system drive? I'm assuming you increased the resolution which will require more video memory which you don't have. I'm guessing from the fact that images are taking longer to load. This is because when the Windows operating system runs out of memory it tries to use virtual memory (space on your system drive (C) which you have little of). This creates conflict in the operating system and greatly affects performance.
