"There was an error during startup. Please see the Log for more details"

Hello,

A couple of weeks ago I started getting this error. It started when I tried installing a crack (Sims 3 Supernatural) from the internet. The reviews seemed true, since they didn't speak like propaganda and weren't telling anything bad. So I downloaded it, but I failed... I do not know what excactly I did wrong, but my sims wouldn't work anymore. I was getting the same message as the subject. Thinking this Crack ruined my game, I removed all of it. Later also using Revo Uninstaller and CCleaner.

(additional info: my computer is a Acer Core with Windows 7 on it. The C: harddrive I'm using has at least 237 GB out of 455 left and the D: drive has 447 out of 455 GB left. Also, I am not good with computers myself, toturials, instructions and such have to be easy to understand for a moron with a terrible case of dyscalculia. So not too many numders in a row if you must, please.)

My father tried to help me, who is rather a computer whizz, told me it could be because of a file I had to replace in the Base Game bin. (I do not remember what the files names were, but if it's really necassary to know in order to help me, I will search for it.) So we re-installed the game, without the expansion packs (Seasons, Pets and World Adventures, all with CD's) but it still wouldn't work. In fact, I re-installed the game at least six times over time. At the first time I recalled it worked for a little while, but then it asked me if I wanted to download the newest patch (1.57 at that time) and I did. Once done I tried to start it up, and got the same message... so I figured it was because the newest patch was faulty! Re-installed the game, without patch, and it worked!

Then I installed the other expansion packs. Starting with Seasons, I immediately encountered a problem: it wouldn't install, because my game wasn't updated enough to work with seasons. So I scoured the internet for the right patch which I couldn't find. I left the problem to rest, because it was, and is, driving me insane. My dad tried to fix it a couple of times too. I don't know what excactly he was doing (I think he was looking for different patches), but it didn't work anyway. We then let it rest for a couple of weeks. Until today. I was trying all sorts of things, toturials, fixes, patches, re-installing with and without all my expansion packs but nothing seemed to work! (They are now all installed and non-working on my pc)

The things I tried were;

-updating the latest patch (1.63)

-following the toturial on this link: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly-must-read

-following the toturial on this video (multiple times): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyKMnpKHGg8&feature=html5_3d

-following the 'Bypass the launcher', the 'right click the launcher...administrator' and the 'uninstalling CAW and CAP... CCleaner' instructions in this link: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-There-was-an-error-during-Startup/td-p/65390

-I tried moving all of my downloads, mods and cheats to a different non-EA file

-I tried removing the '.cache' files, all of them.

I tried searching on all sorts of pages, forums and helpdesks for people with the same or similair problem and tried the solutions they got, but no progress. At all. So instead I wanted to write a question of my own.

If somebody is kind enough to help me out until it works, then you will be my hero!

    I tried everything the link told me to do but it did not help.

    Thank you very much anyway.

    Don't have any other solution. This is usually caused by left over keys but if you're sure you've removed everything, I don't know what else could be causing it.
