Traveler
Does anyone know what settings to put nraas Traveler on so that the gameplay is not different? For example, at University it caused the grocery and bookstore, diner etc to have options to buy a partn...
DivinylsFan Again, any time the game sees sims as unemployed, they will start rolling wishes to join various careers. It's possible that Traveler changes how the game sees employment status, and it's also possible that what has changed is sims' ability to work in a vacation world. I know my employed sims that show as "unemployed" in WA worlds (this is normal) don't roll wishes to join a career, but there are also no lots where they could get a job in those worlds. But again, the dream manager is NOT governed in any way by Traveler; at most, Traveler is changing the context the dream manager is responding to.
The "become a business partner" wish rolls when sims earn a certain amount of money, normally something more than what it takes to roll the "buy something worth §500" and less than "buy something worth §1000" but I'm not sure exactly how much. )Those wishes trigger when a sim earns §2000 and §3000, respectively, but not all earnings count towards this total. For example, selling produce at the grocery store does, but selling fish does not.) I don't remember whether THIS wish shows up in WA worlds for me because I always cancel it without even thinking.
"Be a partner in [larger number of] businesses" happens after sims are a partner in one, but I'm not completely sure about the other trigger(s) because I only rarely bother with this feature.
But for both of thesse, again, just ignore them if you don't want to fulfill them. They're not a big deal. If your sim isn't going to join a given career, what's the harm in cacncelling the wish? If your sim IS going to join the career, or become a business partner, in the homeworld, you get the wish early. So what?
And again, this does NOT affect when other wishes are rolled, at least if your game is working correctly. The wishes have specific triggers, and one trigger firing doesn't affect any other's ability to fire as well. The one caveat is that the dream manager is heavy, so it's theoretically possible that it's getting overwhelmed in general and not able to handle all the processing it would otherwise be doing. But that's speculation on my part and also not the vault of Traveler.
I've never had any sims travel without Traveler in place because I didn't own any packs that allow travel until long after I'd installed NRasas mods. Since I didn't want my saves to implode, I used Traveler from the beginning. So it's not a case of not remembering.
This is the first maybe second time I've used Traveler, and always played without it before, many years. So I know there is a difference with those wishes. They didn't get the career or business wishes in University before, and they didn't get business wishes in WA before. They get them in the homeworld.
Another thing they're getting in University and WA worlds which they didn't before, is the Seasons holidays. There is an option in the Traveler to Enable or not the Seasons weather manager.
University normally has seasons, but it doesn't normally have the seasons holidays or festivals. Switching off the seasons there would make it not normal, but Traveler is causing Spooky Day, Snow day etc. They don't get a day off classes, but the unnatural announcements and jingle music occur, the wishes associated with them such as throw a costume party, feast party ... I didn't look to see if there were festival grounds operating when it said the festival had started.
WA doesn't normally have seasons. I used the setting of False for Enable Seasons. The first time I did that, the initial season of Summer disappeared totally from my sims' interface, but on the re-play the season stopped but didn't go away. So the summer sun is on my sims' interface without a temperature or days to go until Fall, but he has a constant Summer fun/cool moodlet. They also got a holiday announcement, for Leisure Day.
I wonder if the non-active households will fulfil those things. University students getting full time jobs at the diner, trick or treating, WA residents throwing pool parties, getting sunburnt.
All very well to ignore but there are plenty of areas of the game people are particular about the aesthetics of. These things are coming up often enough that they are detracting.
Thanks anyway.
