Trying to reinstall Sims 3/registration code (quick reply please)

I uninstalled both The Sims 3 and Pets, because my game wouldn't start up anymore and I thought this would help the problem. Just now I tried to reinstall the base game and it told me to enter my registration code. I found this but it tells me it's invalid (obviously because it's already used because I already played the Sims 3). How can I solve this? I really want to play my game again.

This sounds like there are still traces of your game in the registry of your computer. This can happen when you un-install a game. Please read here how to fix it:

Deleting things from the registry of your computer is not an easy task. If you are not very experienced with computers, please ask an experienced user to help you.
