I'm having the same problem. My sim was arrested for tagging. Got in the cop car, and disappeared. My Portrait Panel is empty, it is frozen on the inventory, and all moodlets are unchanging. It doesn't register that he exists. This is very weird considering he is my only sim. I tried to reset him, and reset everyone to no avail.
