Help?

When I tried to play sims 3 a while back it came up with an error and the game wouldn’t load. Since then, I’ve tried numerous of times like uninstalling and reinstalling the game, deleted all the files and stuff to start a fresh as I am just desperate to play sims 3. I have no idea what I’m doing and have probably made things worse myself, I’m just trying to reach out as nothing has exactly worked out. Thank you for any helps and time.

  • kmd7607  Please post a screenshot of the error.

Please also post a dxdiag, for reference.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of the error message as tht was a while ago and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling since.

  • kmd7607  For Sims 3 itself, please try uninstalling and reinstalling .NET Framework 3.5.  Click Windows key-R, enter appwiz.cpl in the run box, click "Turn Windows features on or off," and the .NET runtimes will be near the top of the list.  Click the filled-in box to uninstall, and restart your computer.  Repeat the process, clicking the now-empty box to reinstall, and restart again.

Your dxdiag also lists a few crashes of the graphics driver.  So if you still can't play after reinstalling .NET 3.5, please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver, as described here:
