Version 0.0.0.0 error STILL happening.

Okay,

I've gone through pretty much all the steps on the other threads and still nothing has worked.

-I have plenty of space on the computer

-I've updated the graphics card

-I've ran disk defragment, CCleaner, my anti-spyware hasn't quarantined anything from TS3

-I have no custom content

-I've uninstalled and re-installed Origin

-I've uninstalled and re-installed all the expansions I have and the base game.

-If I don't install the patch, only TS3 will play, no pets, etc. Like the game will load, but none of the content will load from any expansions.

-I installed the base game and did the update, as the thread said to and I'm still getting the same error "There was an error during startup. Please see the Log for details".

-I've tried to run the game by skipping the launcher and get another error.

Can anyone help me?

    Hi michaelrachel,

Do you run your game on fullscreen or windowed mode? If it is fullscreen, you can edit the 'Options.ini' file to force the game to start in Windowed Mode. Users have reported success in running the game and getting rid of the error message after forcing their game to run in Windowed Mode by following the instructions below:

    1. Click on the 'Start' button on your Windows Taskbar.
    2. Select 'My Documents.'
    3. Double-click on the 'Electronic Arts' folder.
    4. Open 'The Sims 3' folder.
    5. Right-click on the 'Options.ini' file and select 'Open With...'
    6. Choose to open the file in 'Notepad.'
    7. Press the 'Ctrl' and 'F' key at the same time to bring up the 'Find' panel.
    8. Type in the following line (without the quotes): 'fullscreen = 1.'
This line should be the 8th option from the top, above 'simquality'
    9. Change the number 1 to a number 0.
    10. The line should now read: 'fullscreen = 0.'

Your game should now start in Windowed Mode.

Please let us know if that helped you.

    Thanks,

    Ursula
