Want to kick my kid out but....

I want to kick one of my kids out that is now a young adult, but I want to move them into their own house and become a playable family. Is that possible and if so how? When i selected the move out option I cannot give my kid any money to move out and if i do it will not let me select them as a playable family. Any help would be greatly appreciated

     make them your active house hold then move when you are done moving go to edit town in options and swich your house hold to your previous one.  You can get more money by using the motherlode cheat. The motherlode cheat gives you 50000 simolions.

    Thank you! But can I still play as the old family and the kid flying solo?

    It is also possible when you move the young adult out that you make it your active household. You cannot play both households simultounaseuouly but via edit town you can keep on switiching households.
