What to do with robberies?

You can just replace all the stuff the robber took. Buy a burglar alarm.

When you move into a house add an alarm. if thats to pricey there are other options.

1) when you are being robbed have a sim call the police. (note-brave sims will go to fight so they cant call and scared sims might be to scared to call.) 

2) call the police either way just to have them check sometimes they can give you money back.

3) if you hear the music they play when a burglar is approching (or when its on your lot) just use the cheat 

testingcheatsenabled true

then shift click the burglar and delete it.
