No button to download Monte Vista

Hi,

I am interested in downloading the Monte Vista world, but there is no button to download it. Only a button that supposedly would lead me to "get a bundle" but is actually a dead link. I tried to get it from Origins and directly from the EA website, but I downloaded my Sims 3 from Steam, and it looks like if I want to play Monte Vista from them, I have to download Sims 3 again from them in order to play which I don't want to do.

Is there a way I can still access Monte Vista?

  • @poppingmythik  You can in fact download Monte Vista into a Steam install.  (I have a Steam install and have installed the world a few times.)  Have you bought it already but can't download it, or do you want to buy it?  If you already own it, all you need to do is go here:

    https://store.thesims3.com/montevista.html?categoryId=12642

Sign in with your EA/Origin account, and you should see a Download button.  This works the same way in any kind of install.

If you don't own MV, you can buy it, or better yet, the bundle that includes MV and Hidden Springs, from Origin or the EA App.  You'll receive a code for each one in your email receipt, which you then need to register on the store site, NOT the EA App or Origin.  Once you do that, you can install your content through the store site.

The important thing to remember is to register your world(s) in the same EA account that you used to register your Steam-bought base game in Origin.  If the accounts don't match, the world won't install properly.

Well, as I said, there is no download button. Only a "Get the Bundle" button which is a dead link.

@poppingmythik  Does this account in fact own Monte Vista?  As in, you both bought MV AND registered it on the store site?  If you do own MV, it should show as owned, on the left side of the page, when you click My Page.  If it doesn't show as owned, then that's the issue.

When I go to the MV product page, I see a Download button.  But you can also check your purchase history (Store > My Store Account > Purchase History); maybe it'll show up there.

When I clicked on "My Page", and looked at the "My Worlds" category, Riverview, Lucky Palms, Hidden Springs, Aurora Skies, and Sunlit Tides (which I know for sure I've bought) icons are all lit up, but the Monte Vista icon is not lit up.

@poppingmythik  That meanst Monte Vista isn't properly registered to your account.  Did you in fact buy the world?  If not, as said before, you can buy it through Origin or the EA App and register the product code on the store site.  It doesn't matter that you're using a Steam install; as long as your Steam CD Key and Monte Vista are registered to the same account, the world will work.

If you've already bought the pack, just go to the store site and register the code you received along with the email receipt.

OK, so I've downloaded it on Origin for the EA Windows app, but how do I download it from there? Because it says I've bought it, but I just downloaded the EA app, and when went to look for it, it's not in my collections.

@poppingmythik  Again, you need to also register Monte Vista on the Sims 3 Store site I linked earlier.  When you purchased the world, you should have received a confirmation email that also included a 16-character product code.  For example:

I blocked out the code itself, but you can see where it appeared.  Login to the Store site with the same email address and password that you use for your Origin account (the one where you registered your Steam copy of Sims 3), scroll down to the bottom of the page, click Redeem a Code, and enter this code.  Then Monte Vista should appear in your purchase history, and you should also see a Download button on MV's product page.
