EA Download Manager is now Origin. I got that message because of the new patch available, 1.55. Open The Sims 3 Launcher, go to the Game Updates tab, click on refresh and you should get a message saying that there is a new update available, click on Update Now. If the message doesn't appear or if you have problems installing the new patch via Launcher, try installing the Super Patch.
NOTE: Read this on what to do before patching
If after updating you still get the same message try:
- Uninstalling and installing Origin again
- See these Programs that may cause conflicts with Origin
I downloaded the super patch and it said that it was succesfful. So I opened my launcher, but it stil says "Unable to connect to EA Download Manager" when I go to the updates tab. :P
Did you do the 2nd part I explained? About uninstalling / installing Origin and checking for the programs that conflict with Origin?
