@Wholesome_Goth Without more information, I can only guess. Is the fenced area entirely closed in, or is there a gap somewhere? Can you unlock the gate, then lock it? Does it help to delete the gate and place a new one?
If you're desperate, you can also just remove the gate and wait to place a new one until after the full moon has passed.

@puzzlezaddictcan't seem to do anything with the gate. I have deleted the entire fence and replace it, and the gate. Nothing.
....
It just dawned on me that maybe it could have been something about the spot I originally tried having the garden, it was in an area at the front of the house and off to the left of the front door porch. So I moved it to another spot and suddenly the white picket fence gate works...guess having the fence connected to the side of the house is not an allowable thing. 🤷🏻♀️ @Wholesome_Goth Does the house have a foundation? It might be that connecting it to a foundation or deck doesn't work properly. I can't remember the last time I created a fenced-in area that was attached to a house, but I thought it was possible in at least some cases.
Anyway, it sounds like you have your answer.

@puzzlezaddictYeah, its probably the foundation that is causing the issue. So annoying. 😔
I don't recall having the issue in the past, back when I last originally played sims 3. 😅Oh well, I will just have to remember not to attach the fenceline to a house with a foundation. 😣
