Why didn't i get the free simpoints when i registered my game?

I got the sims 3 recently, brand-new in the package, and I was excited to see the card inside that said when i register my game that i would get $10 worth of simpoints. I waited a couple days to see ...

    you have to redeem the free simpoints go to your my page your account

    • 'Redeem your SimPoints,' right under your avatar.
    • Click on the 'Redeem Free SimPoints' orange button.

I didnt get a code in my box or on the sims 3 website I can't see the orange button saying redeem my free simpoints anyone help please?????
